Documents to be submitted when applying for foreign leaves
General instructions to be considered
Application forms relevant to foreign leaves applied by you should be correctly completed and directed to the Provincial Secretary of Education together with the supportive documents and the recommendations of the relevant Principal of the school, Zonal Director of Education and the Western Provincial Director of Education.
Duly completed foreign leave applications along with the recommendation of the Provincial Secretary of Education and the Chief Secretary are forwarded to the Secretary to the Governor of the province in order to obtain the approval of the Hon. Governor for going overseas.
After receiving the approval from the Hon. Governor for going overseas, approving foreign leaves will be done by the Provincial Secretary of Education.
Hon. Governor of Western Province is the leave granting authority. Therefore, the application of foreign leaves should be submitted to this ministry at least before 03 weeks enabling to submit the application to the leave granting authority at least 02 weeks prior to the starting date of leave.
No officer should be gone abroad without the permission of the Hon. Governor of Western Province.
Going abroad without such permission can be considered as leaving the service.
As applications received with deficiencies will be redirected, only the applications that have been duly completed as per the information in the following tables should be submitted to avoid any delays.
Overseas leaves are approved by the Provincial Secretary of Education after the leave of the island is approved by the Hon. Governor.
Requirements to be fulfilled according to the reason of requesting the leave
