A pilot project to improve water sanitation facilities  and to generate awareness among students on the effective use of sanitation facilities in schools of the Western Province

As per a concept of Hon Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, Member of Parliament, with the financial assistance of the Tissa De Silva Foundation, A pilot project to improve water sanitation facilities and to generate awareness among students on the effective use of sanitation facilities is being implemented based on WP/Matu/Dikhena Kanishta Vidyalaya in Matugama Zonal Education, WP/Ho/Diwalakada Kanishta Vidyalaya in Horana Zonal Education and WP/Kalu/Halkandawila Maha Vidyalaya in Kalutara Zonal Education, three less privileged schools in the Western Province. The memorandum of understanding on the above was signed with the Tissa De Silva Foundation by the Secretary, Ministry of Education in Western Province, and the Deputy Chief Secretary (Engineering) in Western Province on the 11th of October in 2021.
