Western Provincial Vishwabhinandana Artist Tribute Ceremony – 2020

Arrangements have been made by the Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Western Province to hold the Vishwabhinandana 2020 Artist Award Ceremony this year as well, with the aim of recognizing the talents of the artists  of the Western Province  who have mastered the artistic talents though not being acclaimed on national level.

It is intended to obtain nominations for this at Divisional Secretariat levels and the following fields of arts have been selected for this purpose

Applications

Information and sources that can be submitted to confirm the role played by the respective artist in the relevant field should be certified by the Western Provincial Cultural Officer regarding all the fields. (Certificates, books, photographs, etc.)

It is necessary to consider the following criteria when sending nominations.

• Every applicant should be a permanent resident of Western Province currently.
• Should not be a recipient of Western Provincial Vishwabhinandana award in previous years.
• In case of an artist submitting nominations for several fields, separate applications must be submitted for each field.
• In case panel of judges selecting a suitable artist to present the award, A description of the artist should be mentioned on ½ of an A4 page and attached with the application for inclusion in the souvenir to be printed.

  All the applications should reach this ministry before 30^th September 2020.
